Serpentine - Ian Stuart

In perfect original condition - complete with all her original tags - this is a mid period Ian Stuart. Very elegant. Very classic. He was a master of proportion and drape, and this is one of his quieter designs rather than his theatrical ones

The horizontally ruched bodice is made of georgette - as is the skirt and train of the gown. The mid section of the bodice has a 10" deep band of the most exquisitve corded lace in silver which is highlighted with small diamantes. Rather than competing for attention, every detail works together to create a beautifully balanced silhouette.

The train is cut beautifully (but what else would you expect from an Ian Stuart design?There's no need for layers of embellishment here; the quality of the cut does all the talking. It's graceful, timeless and unmistakably Ian Stuart.

It's the sort of dress that would look entirely at home stepping out of a Bentley outside Claridge's. And, in common with other unaltered Ian Stuart's it has fabulous seam allowances which would allow it to be let out by at least one size and possibly two.
