Meet Beverley Tricker

From the gentle romance of vintage lace to bespoke looks, statement veils and renowned designers, Beverley Tricker is passionate about all things bridal.

Her stunning collection which has been lovingly built up over many years can be found in her welcoming boutique – nestled on a conservation area street in the heart of Aberdeen.

Beverley has been a talented seamstress for more than four decades, and even made her own bedazzled tea dress style frock in homage to the gown which her mother wore on her wedding day – some sixty years earlier. She was gifted her very first sewing machine when she was just seven years old, but the carefully chosen toy did not go down well. Beverley had higher aspirations, only the real deal would do.

She stitched her way through university and it was not uncommon for Beverley to create her own outfit from scratch – set to be worn that very same evening for a soiree in The Granite City. Having enjoyed a varied career first as a teacher before launching her own PR firm, the comforting hum of the sewing machine has been a nigh constant companion.

Tricker Bridal is the culmination of a lifelong passion, and the quiet hope that she can find the right outfit for each and every person who walks through the door. If you are in search of a truly one-off experience in the otherwise frenzied world of bridal fashion, Beverley is waiting to welcome you. There is no hard sell lurking in the rails, allow yourself to be transported back to childhood where the world of dress up saw you proudly
admire your own reflection.

Shopping for “the one” should not be daunting or make you question whether your body must alter in order to fit the perfect dress. Allow Beverley to pull a curated selection, perhaps with the odd wild card for good luck, and you will soon realise that you are not duty bound to fit the dress, but rather the right dress is destined to fit you.

Beverley’s expertise, immense knowledge and of course a love for all things beautiful will not only make you feel at home, but will see you fall in love with the entire process. Her eye for subtle detail means not one single button is overlooked, the merits of pearl versus satin discussed with steady devotion and the determination to get things just right. Finishing touches to your bespoke gown include a garter made from the very same material, alongside the date of your nuptials hand stitched on a delicate label which only you as the wearer know is there.

For vintage lovers, Beverley has a remarkable collection of frocks from across the decades which she has lovingly restored by hand. Her determination in enabling a stained gown to have a second chance at love perhaps sums Beverley up, as does her extensive vintage pattern collection!

She also covets the designs of Ian Stuart; a renowned name in the bridal industry, he favoured bold silhouettes and intricate detailing - often with a fabulous flounce of drama. And if a bespoke look is calling your name, Beverley can guide you through the process complete with sketches,
material swatches and fittings which will see you proudly look in the mirror and declare; “Yes, there I am.”

For the bride who knows exactly what she wants, Beverley is a loyal partner on the journey and relishes a challenge. Previous clients have requested all manner of visions, from a sunshine yellow colour scheme to gothic black, 3D flowers and just the right hint of blush indictive of the Jane Austin era. And for the brides who are bewildered or simply have no clue what their dream dress might look like, Tricker Bridal is waiting in the wings with soft suggestions which will make your heart soar in recognition.

For Beverley, the world of bridal is a forever first dance. Whether you plan to elope amongst the heather, pose against the backdrop of a vibrant city or say ‘I do’ within ancient church walls, there is a dress which is right for you.

A dress which makes you feel so entirely yourself, yet so extraordinary in that exact same moment. Welcome, to Tricker Bridal.

"I’ve always loved the idea that a dress can tell you who someone was and when a bride chooses one, she adds her own chapter to its story."

"I’ve always believed that a wedding dress should feel like you – not a version of you you’ve been told to be"

Beverley's own bespoke collection of vintage insipred designs was featured in Scottish Wedding Magazine.

"If you’d like to visit, bring your ideas, your questions – and if you’re nervous, that’s perfectly normal. I’ll pop the Prosecco and we’ll start from there."

Whether I’m sketching a bespoke gown, restoring a 1960s mini, or helping someone fall in love with a sample they never expected, my aim is always the same: to make that moment in front of the mirror feel real, effortless and unforgettable.
