Regatta - Stunning Ian Stuart Original

This is a rare original Ian Stuart - in fact I've never seen this one before.

I am lost for words.

It's stunning, it's pure silk and .... it's pink stripes!

An eruption of pleated, gathered silk in his signature style. Layer upon layer, whipped and gathered into a whirlwind of movement, spilling into a dramatic 'tidal' train. Bows, ruffles, pearls and flowers - it's got it all. 

The whole hemline is a bubble hem ... or as we would call in in the 1980s a puffball.

It is unapologetically theatrical. It swirls. It commands space. It photographs like a dream and will not, under any circumstances, be ignored.

This is Ian Stuart at full throttle - couture construction, fantasy colour and the glorious sense of fun he did so brilliantly.
