Quietly Beautiful – St Patrick

A beautifully cut wedding dress will always stand the test of time, and this St Patrick gown is a particularly lovely example.

Made from white duchess satin, it has a classic A-line silhouette, fitted neatly through the bodice before falling into a full, sweeping skirt and long train. The round neckline and cutaway armholes give it a clean, elegant shape, while delicate spaghetti straps and a low back add a lovely feminine touch. There's a definite 90s overtone to this one.

The decoration is wonderfully restrained. Tiny clusters of clear and silver beads, arranged like little flowers, are scattered across the bodice and skirt. They're so delicate that you could almost miss them at first glance, but they catch the light beautifully.

Duchess satin is a fabulous fabric for this style of gown. It has enough body to hold those lovely clean lines, with a smooth finish that gives the dress its wonderfully polished appearance.
