Halo Pleats - True Vintage
A beautifully preserved (and carefully restored) true vintage wedding dress from the 1970s — a decade that knew exactly how to do romance with confidence.
The horseshoe neckline - very 70s! - leads into an empire-line bodice edged with white lace, entirely typical of the period. From there, the skirt falls into crisp sunray pleats, flowing effortlessly into a perfectly proportioned train that sits beautifully.
But the real stars are the sleeves. Sunray pleated and shaped into a glorious angel-wing silhouette, they move beautifully with the body and give the dress that unmistakable late-70s ethereal presence.
Originally dulled by time, this gown has been restored to its original white, allowing the pleating, lace and structure to shine as they would have done when it was first worn.
This is vintage bridal at its very best — romantic, wearable, and full of soul.
Why Beverley loves it:" The sleeves alone sold this 1970s beauty to me. They’re pure theatre — but the quiet, poetic kind."
