Grand Poise 

Grand Poise is a reminder that a classic ballgown doesn’t need to be loud to be impressive. Designed by Blue by Enzoani, this gown originally retailed at over £1200 — and it shows in the detail, the fabric, and the way it moves.

The strapless bodice is beautifully shaped, with asymmetrical pleating across the front that gives definition. The straight neckline keeps everything clean and elegant, while the waist is the real point of difference: intricately detailed lace and beadwork wraps around the gown — not the same old motifs you see everywhere else. It’s one of those details you only fully appreciate up close.

The skirt is gloriously full without being overwhelming, flowing into a manageable train that gives you the drama without the drama management. The satin is especially good — one of the best silk-slipper-satin imitations I’ve seen — with a beautiful weight and sheen that photographs wonderfully. A neat row of covered buttons finishes the back of the bodice, just as it should.

She’s preloved and in stunning condition, with only a light dust mark on the underside of the train (invisible when worn). and she's not got the right number of buttons down the back for the loops (someone has spaced them out rather than there being missing ones) but these can very easily be replaced.  The bodice has been taken in to reduce the bust, but this alteration can be undone to return her to her original size. (see last photo) In short: a proper gown, beautifully made, and ready to shine again.
