Double Take – Carla Ruiz

This is one of those outfits that makes me grin every time I see it. Carla Ruiz has taken bold lime green mikado and paired it with a multicoloured cloque that looks as if it’s been painted with joy. The scoop-neck bodice with elbow-length sleeves is cut from the cloque, set above a sleek, straight lime skirt that is sharp and chic.

But the real trick is in the detachable overskirt — cloque on the outside, lined in matching mikado — that sweeps over the slim skirt. Wear it down the aisle or into the reception and you’ve got drama. Whisk it off later and you’re suddenly sleek, sharp and ready to dance.
