“She's got an Art Deco meets Gothic Romance feel.”

Description

Arabesque - Eternity Bridal

The black and silver embellishment on a white dress immediately caught my eye. It's so unusual for a bridal gown. There's almost a hint of Egyptian Revival motifs mixed with Art Nouveau scrolls. Not forgetting a Charles Rennie Mackintosh-style stylised florals and even a touch of the decorative embroidery you'd see on Edwardian theatre costumes. Pretty unique eh?

It's a heavy weight satin A-line and the embroidery is substantial with metallic threadwork, bugle beads, seed pearls and sequins. It has a straight neckline strapless bodice.

The train is really special - the centre back panel splits into the skirt and the train leaving the train to fall like a Watteau train that attaches at the upper back rather than the waist.  Black covered buttons from the top of the train to the tip of the hem emphasise this beautiful feature.

Early Y2K gown in excellent condition. It's actually become far more interesting because that black embroidery makes it stand out from almost everything else on the market. The detailing feels surprisingly contemporary now that alternative bridal and statement embroidery are back in fashion..

This dress has substantial seam allowances and could be let out by at least one - and possibly two sizes

Perfect for a gothic bride who doesn't want a black dress, or a bride who wants a little art deco styling. This dress comes with a matching embroidered stole.
