I have called this dress Sindy Doll as I swear I had a dress for my Sindy (Barbie's far more wholesome, British cousin!) which looked exactly like this.
We'd call it crepe fabric today but a child of the 70s knows it as crimpelene - which means it's fantastic for travelling with as it never creases!
It's a demure A line with a semi empire line waist (the waist seams sits at the waistline at the back rising to a peak at empire line in the centre front.) The round necked bodice is embellished with silver and diamante detail which is all in perfect condition. Long fitted sleeves finish a perfect, early 1970s original.
Simple, elegant and classic.

Please note this dress is photographer on a black mannequin hence the facings on the dress appear prominent at the neck line - this wouldn't be the case of the mannequin was flesh coloured.
