I like to think that if Olivia Newton John, in her ‘Sandra Dee’ phase, had married John Travolta in Grease then she’d have worn a dress like this.

True Vintage wedding dress from the late 1950s or very early 1960s this dress comes with its own good luck charm in the shape of a cute horseshoe applique on the skirt.

The gown is made from lace throughout and has a bateau style neckline with a nod to a bardot shape at the front. The bardot neck is edged with white and this edging also forms a detail above the hemline and around the horseshoe motif.

Sheer lace long sleeves with v- shape down the hand and a high backed bodice complete the 1950s modest bride look. It’s terrifically clean and white for a dress of its age (after considerable laundry work!) with very few imperfections – other than the inbuilt underskirt which has a couple of holes and a couple of considerable ‘nibbles’ to the petticoat hem. However, none of this is visible when worn. Inbuilt cotton petticoat has been spray starched. The dress is shown here with an additional underskirt which is not included.
