Hannah's brief was clear. She wanted yellow in the fabric for her dress, it being her favourite colour. And flowers, which would fit the venue of the Winter Gardens in Aberdeen beautifully.
A harder task than I expected to find a selection of bridal fabrics with yellow in them, but I do like a challenge! After talks with suppliers I found six fabulous fabrics all with yellow. One image wasn't as clear in showing the detail, so I also showed Hannah the image of exactly the same fabric in green as it was a clearer image.
And, as you can see, we went from daffodil to sage!
Hannah's dress was an express job - I had seven weeks from start to finish. But I think it's still a meticulous job. The flowers were all individually sewn onto the tulle of skirt, bodice and sleeves.
The sleeves were unlined to allow the fabric to shine and also so that you could catch glimpses of Hannah's daffodil tattoo.
I think a major thank you should go to Hannah's brother in law for services to yellow shoes - driving to Glasgow to pick up the 'right' pair of yellow shoes so we could finish fitting the skirt length - Hannah is the only person I know who owns several pairs of yellow shoes! It was well worth it for this total look.
And what a fantastic set of photos by Lizzie Thurgood Photography - You can tell this was a truly joyful and relaxed day full of love.
