From the moment I met Emma, I knew she needed a statement dress.

Emma, a bride with a vivid and sparkling personality, wanted a wedding dress that would reflect her unique flair and charisma. But it had to be ABW … Anything But White! A bride who wants a bold choice always instantly inspires me as a designer.

During our first consultations, Emma and I explored various coloured fabrics and designs. From there I sourced samples including this stunning fabric adorned with gold sequin fireworks that everything clicked into place. The fabric was mesmerising, but I wasn’t sure if the ABW girl would see past the white background. its true beauty became apparent only when set against a white background. Despite her initial ‘no white’ stipulation, Emma fell in love with the fabric and realised that the white dress was the perfect canvas to make the golden fireworks 'sing.'

Creating Emma's dress was a thrilling journey. The gown featured an elegant silhouette that flattered Emma's figure while allowing the gold sequins to take centre stage. The fireworks pattern creates a dynamic and dazzling effect that caught the light with every movement.

One of the standout features of the dress was the bishop sleeves. These voluminous sleeves added a touch of drama and sophistication to the overall design. To complement the fireworks theme, I adorned the cuffs with crystal buttons that resembled miniature firework bursts.

When Emma first tried on the completed dress her reaction was unforgettable.

On her wedding day, as she walked down the aisle at The Barn at Banchory, the gold sequins shimmered and sparkled.Emma truly was a firework, lighting up the entire room with her radiant presence.

Designing and creating Emma's wedding dress was a winderful experience. I am honoured to have designed her a dress that perfectly encapsulates her vibrant spirit and unique style. 'Baby You're a Firework'* is not just a dress; it is a testament to Emma's individuality and the beauty of stepping outside traditional boundaries to create something truly spectacular.
