Timeless bridal elegance rings true in Aberdeen as wedding belles chime
A new, bespoke bridal salon has been launched in Aberdeen during the peak period for marriage proposals.
The opening of Tricker Bridal, which will operate in the city’s fashionable west end, coincides with the most romantic time in terms of popping the question.
December 24th is the most popular day of the year for proposals and it’s estimated that 40% of all proposals takes place between Christmas and the 14th of February - providing ideal timing for the unveiling of Beverley Tricker’s new business venture.
Beverley is fulfilling a long-held ambition to return to making bespoke bridal gowns for brides who want a classic dress.
As well as being an accomplished seamstress, sewing since her childhood days when Santa brought her a toy sewing machine at the age of seven, she designed and created one off bridal gowns throughout the 1990s.
With a love of Hollywood glamour, she has turned to original sewing patterns of the 40s, 50s and 60s for the inspiration behind her capsule collection. She has created a stunning timeless range of elegant and flattering dresses to appeal in a modern era.
Every stitch will be made by hand in Aberdeen, the patterns requiring intricate sewing techniques, with bridal fittings at key stages to ensure the perfect result. A;; Tricker Bridal dresses can be made in a wide range of beautiful fabrics including pure silk and in a spectrum of colours from white to scarlet.
Beverley says: “I’ve been sewing since I was seven years old, and during the 1990s made hundreds of wedding outfits, and so creating a pop up bridal salon, along with a capsule collection of stunning gowns, each one hand made and inspired by a golden era of elegance and grace, has been hugely enjoyable.
“These are classic gowns that reflect an era when style transcends time and brings something unique for brides in that they are bespoke and made-to-measure.
“Tricker Bridal contrasts with today’s fast fashion. These will be one-off dresses, made exactly to fit the bride’s body shape and measurements and with the option of distinct finishing touches.
“Once the season is over, brides-to-be will be turning their attention to wedding day planning and our appointments book is open now, and we’ll look forward to meeting with brides.
“Our collection of gowns is available to view in our bridal salon during a relaxed, no-obligation consultation where brides can try on these dresses and discuss different options for a bespoke wedding gown.”
Tricker Bridal salon is based at 19 Victoria Street in Aberdeen. Appointments are by pre-arranged booking only and can be booked here.
